Hire a Pivot Intern

Anthony Dickey - Eaton Corp

After completing their intensive academic coursework, the Pivot Fellows begin internships with D.C. companies and nonprofits, where they gain meaningful work experience, build their professional networks, and explore options for full-time employment after graduation.

At the same time, Pivot intern hosts gain highly qualified and committed interns and have a chance to explore how second chance hiring may fit into their organization and workplace.

While in their internships, Fellows are supervised by a Pivot Program coach and continue to earn an hourly stipend, paid for by the program. There is no cost to the employer; host companies are invited, but not required, to help defray the cost of the stipend by making a contribution to the Pivot Program.  Pivot Fellows are also provided with laptops and are able to work either on site or remotely for employers with teleworking practices.

We are currently inviting businesses and nonprofits in the Washington DC metro/DMV area who are interested in exploring second chance hiring to join our network of internship hosts. Pivot internships are full-time, 4 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday) and there is no cost to the employers. While in their internships, Fellows are paid an hourly stipend ($20/hr) by the Pivot Program.

Next year’s internships will begin in March 2026 and finish in June 2026. Organizations with fully remote and/or hybrid work models are also invited to participate. If you are interested in offering an internship opportunity to a Pivot Fellow or want to learn more about the Pivot internship program, please email pivot@georgetown.edu  with the subject line “Pivot Internship Host Opportunities.”
