Get to Know Luis Villafane

What’s been your favorite Pivot class?

The financial literacy class, Personal Finance, has been very eye-opening and entertaining. It’s been enlightening to learn all these things we should have been taught in high school.

What are you learning in your internship?

I’m interning with the McDonough School of Business finance department, so I’m working at Georgetown on campus and splitting my time. The first part of the week, I’m doing financial tasks, and the second part, I’m involved in building maintenance and field operations. I hope to gain skills that will set me on the path to secure long-term employment, build a career, and continue growing.

What are some personal and professional goals you hope to achieve?

I hope to find sustainable long-term employment, something I’ve never really had before, and achieve security.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I enjoy watching 80s and 90s horror movies. My favorites are the original “Friday the 13th” and “Scream.”
