James Robinson

James Robinson, born and raised in Washington, D.C., has developed extensive experience in business ownership and management. As the founder of Cap Kuttz LLC, he spent several years refining his business and customer service skills, while his work as a security manager with multiple organizations strengthened his leadership and operational expertise.

Before joining the Georgetown University Pivot Program, Robinson completed workforce development courses through the Ready Center and the Department of Employment Services, building transferable and soft skills that support his professional growth. He has also pursued education in horticulture and barbering, currently completing his barber stylist certification.

At Pivot, Robinson is focused on expanding his knowledge of business management, computer literacy, and entrepreneurship. He aims to refine the skills necessary to operate his business professionally and sustainably, while gaining the knowledge to create opportunities for his community.

Outside of work, Robinson is a dedicated father, mentor, and motorcycle enthusiast. He enjoys mentoring youth and adults, and spending time with his two toddlers, nurturing both personal growth and community engagement.
