Melvin McLean is a U.S. Air Force veteran from Washington, D.C., with a strong background in public service. He brings over a decade of experience working in human resources for the D.C. government and supporting housing initiatives through Housing Opportunities Unlimited, where he helped residents transition to safer and more supportive living environments.
Currently, McLean is completing his Paralegal Degree at the University of the District of Columbia. He joined the Pivot Program to cultivate creative thinking and gain the knowledge needed to develop community-focused projects, including an educational podcast aimed at empowering underserved communities.
Through Pivot, McLean is building skills to combine his analytical strengths with practical business and entrepreneurial knowledge. He is committed to creating opportunities that benefit his community while expanding his professional and personal growth.
Outside of work, McLean is a passionate sports fan, a news enthusiast, and a proud grandfather.
