The Georgetown Pivot Program recently welcomed its eighth cohort of Pivot Fellows! Over the next nine months, fellows will engage in an intensive curriculum focused on business management, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy. This comprehensive program equips returning citizens with the knowledge and tools they need to succeed in the workforce and achieve their long-term career goals.
During the first week of classes, fellows had the opportunity to shop for professional clothing at Macy’s, as well as enjoy a campus tour. These early experiences gave the fellows a chance to envision their next chapter as Georgetown students and emerging professionals.
“I’ve been a fan of Georgetown since 1986. To be a part of this prestigious school and the network that can come from this is definitely impactful for me and powerful,” says James Robinson. “I would recommend Georgetown Pivot to any person reentering back into society trying to give theirselves a chance.”
The Pivot Program provides fellows with a unique opportunity to challenge themselves in ways they never thought possible.
“I chose Pivot because I’m seeking change in my life,” says Bryan Burrell. “I wanted something different. I wanted something challenging. And I just believe that Pivot is one of the perfect places for me to be.”
Bryan explains that Pivot represents more than just professional development. For him, it’s a chance to challenge himself, grow in a supportive environment, and take steps toward long-term goals.
As Cohort 8 begins this exciting chapter in their careers, the fellows are already demonstrating the determination, curiosity, and drive that define the Pivot community. With the support of Georgetown faculty, staff, and mentors, they are well on their way to preparing for meaningful careers in entrepreneurship and beyond.
